Interview with Chief Privacy Officer of Facebook

· No Comments · Social Networking

From The Buffalo News comes a brief and informative interview with Chris Kelly, the chief privacy officer of Facebook. He notes that Facebook differs from Myspace in that “[Facebook has] been very focused on authenticity all along. We have a real-name culture vs. a screen-name culture. We’re not so much about meeting new people as we are about facilitating better realworld community among people that you already know.”

According to Alexa, Facebook is the 10th most visited website in the world and Myspace is the 6th most visited. We can’t help but be curious to know all that we can about the measures and steps these sites take to insure members’ safety and preservation of data.
