Privacy Rights Clearinghouse offers a detailed fact sheet on debit card usage and the risks consumers may face if cards are lost, stolen or data breached or otherwise compromised. Unfortunately, and not widely known, debit cards do not offer as much protection to consumers in such cases of theft or other misuse.
